St. Antony’s Centre in Trafford Park, Manchester, was established in 1979. The project was created to put into practice the Church's concern for men and women in the World of Work and to support them in partnership with Employers, Community Agencies, Parishes and Chaplaincy Groups. Our fully qualified training team and Reach Out Project workers are here to help and give advice. We operate support and training across the region in local venues and also on employer’s premises.
We hold the nationally recognised Matrix Standard for the quality of our Information and Advice services; we also hold the Investors in People award. This work is inspired by Catholic Social Thinking in action, supporting those in our communities and the world of work who have little or no skills. The call to serve our industrial poor and increasingly those in insecure employment is one we take seriously.
They are currently running a PledgeIT campaign within Runcorn, encouraging people to improve their digital skills. As life becomes increasingly ‘online’ they want to give everyone the opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge to assist them with this.
