I'm back home

After two long years of planning and fundraising the trip of a lifetime is now over and I am pleased to inform you that I am back at home after arriving in the early hours of Monday morning. My two week expedition took me into the heart of Nepal and I met some amazing people along the way and truly enjoyed every moment.

As I passed my fundraising target I have replaced the accumulator with some pictures from my time in Nepal. I look forwards to being able to talk about my time at Halton Circle and in the Church.

Summer and the future

Following my extended holidays it was nice to get back and finish my fundraising ahead of my departure in October. I am now well underway with getting my inoculations and organising the final details.

I have also completed the move from Runcorn fire cadets and am pleased to say that I am now settling in over at Widnes fire station.

This now makes three fire cadets and a leader from Widnes going to Nepal, Beth who is still at Runcorn will be traveling with us.

Just the last couple of bits to raise now with a few more events including Warrington fire station open day.

Runcorn Open Day

Thank you to everyone who attended the fire station open day the other week here in Runcorn. On the day we ran a tombola, which sold out within hours, as well as slush (Thanks to Pete Sheilds) and crisps, water and Fruit Shoots.

The weather was great on the day helping to create a fantastic day for all the family and finishing it off with a refreshing ice cream and slush helping to the Nepal fundraising and  The Firefighters Charity.

It was great to see so many people having a fun day out and also some people from Church coming along and supporting us and the Fire Service. On the day we raised over £260 which has been added to the amount to the side and my total now stands at around £3,100 with only a bit more to go.

This was my last day as a cadet crew manager as I am moving to Widnes Fire Station as of August when I return from my holidays.

Once again Thank You to everyone who has supported me during my time as a Runcorn Cadet and on my Fundraising for my trip to Nepal, which is still going ahead, in October this year

Update on Nepal

I am sure that many of you are aware of the current situation in Nepal following the devastating Earthquake and Aftershocks which have hit this remote Himillain country and the destruction and devastation which has been caused as a result of it.

I know many of you have been contacting me to ask about the Fire Cadets Trip to Nepal and if we are still going. Afte having several letters and meetings with the team at Cheshire Fire HQ we have been looking the situation and are continuing to monitor the situation to ensure that everyone is safe.

I am pleased to inform you that we are still going ahead with the mission to Nepal, subject to further developments, and that our team over in Nepal are all OK, as are their friends and family, which is great news and the schools foundations have suffered only minor damage.

I will keep you updated with further news.

The BIG Quiz: Nepal ~ UPDATE

It is with regret that i have to confirm that we have had to cancel The BIG Quiz: Nepal, which was due to take place this coming Saturday at 7pm, here in Halton Trinity.

We took the decision to have to cancel this event following poor ticket sales which would have meant that the quiz would be nonviable to continue with. Everyone who purchased a ticket will be fully reimbursed with the amount of each ticket they had for the quiz.

I am deeply grateful to everyone who has donated the money from their tickets to the fundraising, despite the cancellation of the event, and those who have donated to the quiz.  The Quiz has made £50 which will be added to the fundraising amount.

We are organizing other events which will take place during 2015 which i am looking forwards to.
